Psych Ward

The echos of someone losing their sanity coming from down the hall
I've barely slept at all
The impending worry of the unfamiliar place
A mirror reflecting a distraught face
I recognize my eyes, but the rest?
It's probably buried with the memories under the chest
The nurse at the foot of my bed
“It's time to take your nighttime med”
These blue scrubs hold my desperate body
where beautiful blouses used to be
If only my heart could stop bleeding from me
The numb feelings move the paint brush with a verse
“Love Yourself First”
Frozen, numb, scared and lost
My life it cost
